6 Festive Fall Outfits to Recreate this Year!

It’s about that time of year to start thinking about your Fall transition looks!  I’m rounding up some of my favorite fall transition looks from last year that are still on trend this year.

You might say, what is a transition look? These are looks that transition you into the next season.  If you live in a place that has 4 seasons, you definitely know how awkward the weather is between seasons.   In the morning it can be freezing cold with frost on the ground, but by mid afternoon you might think it’s mid summer! I chose these fall transition looks because I think each one has the essentials for the changing seasons.  You’ll find everything from trendy ponchos, layered favorites, and off the shoulder must haves!  Keep in mind, these are all pieces that you can wear for the warmer part of the season, but also change them up for when it does start to get colder!

1. Ponchos

I LOVE ponchos.  You saw me wearing them on repeat last year and that’s because it’s basically like wearing a blanket.  For the Fall, you can wear a poncho with a cute skirt or even shorts with a pair of booties.  As soon as it gets too cold for that, replace the skirt with some denim and pair the poncho with a cozy sweater.

2. Off The Shoulder Sweaters and Tops

You guys know that I’m no stranger to an off the shoulder top!  I, especially, wear them during the summer months, but now there are some super cute off the shoulder sweaters and long sleeve blouses that allow you to take this trend right into the Fall!  Why wouldn’t you?  Whether it’s a sweater or a blouse, you can easily pair it with a pair of denim and some cute heels or booties.  If it gets colder at night, toss a light jacket over your shoulders to keep the chill away.

3. Denim Jackets –

Speaking of denim jackets, if you don’t own one it’s time to buy one now!  A denim jacket is an all season piece!  They literally go with anything and I mean ANYTHING.  Denim on Denim? You got it!  Denim over a Tee?  Yes!  In this case, I paired a summery t-shirt dress with my favorite Madewell Denim jacket and some sneakers.

4. Accessorize with Booties and Hats

Another easy way to create some Fall transition looks is by adding some warmer accessories to a summer dress!  Instead of wearing open toed shoes, replace those shoes with some booties.  Add a felt or suede hat for the ultimate Fall look.

5. Layer, Layer, Layer

When in doubt, layer, layer, layer.  This is a super easy way to transition your look to fall.  You can add layers, take them off, and put them back on again. Cargo jackets, blazers, and chambray shirts are my favorite pieces to layer!
